Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop GIMP software modules that take into account various student learning styles. The development of GIMP modules is to facilitate teachers and students to conduct teaching and learning sessions in the context of the creation of a Form three students’ Contemporary Art Era using this GIMP software module and hopefully to assist students in their exploration activities as they produce digital painting techniques. In this study, researchers used the study as the design and development to develop the learning modules in Form 3 Digital Painting Techniques using GIMP software based on the ADDIE model. There are several methods of data collection used questionnaires, interviews, observations and document analysis as analytical support for the findings. The initial survey carried out for the legality of the construction of the module. This study is aimed at Form three students. About 32 students will be involved in the use of learning modules in the classroom. The preliminary findings show that pupils display a very positive attitude and that students can use the module without the help of a teacher. The learning sessions in the classroom are fun and smooth. Basically, a 21st century learning class has been achieved. It is hoped that this learning module will help teachers as well as enhance students' understanding of Form 3 students’ digital drawing techniques. Students can also experiment and explore the art of drawing using digital drawing techniques using this software module. Therefore, students can express ideas creatively and innovatively through these activities in the classroom.
